Destination Weddings

Normally wedding invitations are sent by the bride's parents, inviting guests to celebrate the wedding of their daughter, but in today's more liberal society it could well be the bride herself who sends out the invitations, particularly if she has been married before or is already living with her future husband and not at her parents home. Wedding invitations are often the subject of much discussion and where Destination Weddings are concerned need special consideration and much greater detail than traditional invitations.

Destination Weddings

Accommodation facilities available for guests attending along with prices and details of any discounts negotiated with the venue. Proposed length of stay at the venue, both before and after the wedding ceremony. Country, venue and location with directions and website address. Date; and time of the ceremony if known. A destination wedding invitation should include the following information: Brides need to understand that not everyone they would like to attend may be able to do so and should not take offence if their invitation is politely declined. When a destination wedding is involved it is normal to send out invitations, or possible Save the Date Cards, well in advance in order to give invited guests sufficient notice to arrange time off work, organize a vacation to coincide with the wedding and possible save up the funds required to make the trip.

Contact details for the venue, including phone number and costs of meals, drinks and other facilities if not included in the accommodation prices, and confirmation of who will be paying for the reception and rehearsal dinners if these are being held. Transport details from airport to the venue with estimated costs if not included in the accommodation prices. Recommended Travel Agent or Airline with estimate of ticket costs and if group travel discounts have been negotiated or are available.
